The project of the Krasnoyarsk metro construction was developed in 1993. The first section of the first metro line is supposed to have five stations – “Vysotnaya”, “Kopylova”, “Vokzalnaya”, “Ploshchad Revolyutsii”, “Prospekt Mira” and interstation tunnels. The length of this line is 8,22 km, the distance between the stations is around 1,85 km. Estimated volume of passenger flow is 55 million people per year or almost 170 thousand people per day. As per plan, construction of the first five stations will take 10 years (in case of steady financing).

From 1988 to 1994 exploration works were carried out, and in a year, in October 1995, the first bucket of soil was took out in a place of the future station, which marked the construction beginning. By now temporary buildings and facilities necessary for excavation have been constructed on job sites around the future metro stations, and also underground works on construction of shafts and access tunnels have been performed.

There are some sections of unstable and watered ground along this metro line, that’s why chemical grouting technology is applied during boring of the interstation tunnels which is performed by means of the LOVAT RME - 242 SE TBM with a diameter of 6.2 m.
