The Mansky railway tunnel is located in the Abakan -Taishet section of the Krasnoyarsk Railway. According to the project, construction of a railway and service tunnels is planned. These tunnels will run parallel to each other with a 59 meter distance between their centerlines. The railway tunnel length is planned to be 2460,6 m. Longitudinal sections of these two tunnels are single-slope. This construction project comprising of the railway tunnel, service tunnel, pre-portal cuttings, jobsites and dead-end track is located in Partizansk area, the Krasnoyarsk Region.
In September 2007, the service tunnel excavation started using the 3,56 m Lovat RME 139SE TBM with erection of pre-cast reinforced concrete segment lining (circular type). The lining inner diameter is 3,05 meters, and the lining outer diameter is 3,41 meters. Muck haulage is carried out using the muck cars ВСК-5,4 and the diesel locomotive CHL-60G.
Additionally, in 2008, the inner chambers were constructed using drill and blast. Excavation of the service tunnel is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2009. Construction of the railway tunnel is planned to start at the end of 2010.
